Afghanistan Test Victory Over Zimbabwe

Hello friends, welcome to our blog ‘Afghanistan Test Victory Over Zimbabwe’. Afghanistan defeats Zimbabwe to record its first-ever multi-Test bilateral series victory.

Since gaining Test status in 2017, this was Afghanistan’s fourth victory in 11 games. It has only played Zimbabwe twice in multi-game Test series, the first of which resulted in a 1-1 tie in 2021.

Since earning Test status in 2017, Afghanistan has won four of its last eleven games. However, it has only played two multi-game Test series against Zimbabwe, the first of which finished in a 1-1 tie in 2021.

On the last day of the second Test at Queens Sports Club, Afghanistan won by 72 runs with just 15 balls remaining.

After failing to add to its overnight total and losing its final two wickets in just 13 minutes, Zimbabwe was dismissed for 205.

Zimbabwe looked set to win at 157-4, chasing a target of 278 runs, but Rashid Khan’s leg-spin on Sunday put Afghanistan in a winning position.

In Bulawayo, the first Test resulted in a high-scoring tie.
